I started volunteering on an organic farm share in New Mexico in 2012. As a nature photographer who loves animals and also enjoys travel and writing, it seemed like a good idea to offer my experience and skills to expand services to new clients. I like to assist fellow travelers, educators, pet owners and farming folk who might need a break during a hectic season.
I make a modest living as a pet sitter and visual artist. The only amenity I require for any stay is access to the internet so I may market my services. Having access to a vehicle as backup transportation in case of veterinary emergencies is always a good plan.

Long-term rates: $40 a day, flat rate, up to 14 days [two weeks: $560]. If you're traveling more than two weeks the flat monthly rate kicks in which is $500. That's a $60 savings for traveling homesteaders and small farmers.
**Please note an emergency fund or credit card for food/medicine/feed may be warranted if you travel longer than a month, especially during winter.
